The DANTES (Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support) Distance Learning (DL) Program provides information and opportunities critical to Service members for whom traditional classroom learning is not an option because of travel, deployment, or work schedules.
What is DANTES?
A Department of Defense (DoD) activity located on Saufley Field in Pensacola, FL, the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support has a mission to support off-duty, voluntary education programs of DoD. DANTES conducts special projects and developmental activities in support of the Department’s education-related functions, including:
- Providing high-value educational opportunities to service men and women
- Providing assistance to military personnel in achieving personal and professional education goals
- Providing program management to more efficiently distribute education tasks among the services
- Supporting recruitment, retention and transition efforts via educational opportunities and assistance.
