Program Description

Legal Assistant Certificate

The Legal Assistant Certificate helps students to develop the skills necessary for effective legal writing, document processing, and legal research. The certificate will prepare students for an entry level legal assistant position in legal services, and law offices.

Upon successful completion of the Legal Assistant Certificate, students will have acquired the knowledge and skills to:

  • Explain legal analysis and the use of authorities and summarizing the uses of statutory law.
  • Analyze a client’s case for key facts and issues.
  • Communicate with others about technology as it relates to the legal community.
  • Identify the functions of a complaint and appropriate service of process.
